On 8th September 2019, Rev. Murray Cornelius, the Executive Director for International Missions for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) visited Northmead Assembly of God (NAOG) to officially “burn the mortgage.” This is after NAOG completed payments on the intial Principal loan of $500,000 from PAOC (towards the purchase of a property near Lusaka’s Central Business District) and an additional $1,250,000 loan (obtained from another financial institution for a 2nd Property in Northmead), both Facilities that, inclusive of cumulative interest, amounted to approximately $2,700,000 and which NAOG paid off completely in a record 15 years!
The PAOC Executive Director for International Missions, in congratulating NAOG on this milestone, proposed a celebration in the Canadian tradition of symbolically “burning the mortgage!”
